2 Jahre 117 T Krieg in der Ukraine, 227 T Krieg in Gaza/Israel und: Ray Davies 80 Jahre

Acht Kinder waren es in der Arbeiterfamilie Nordlondons, sechs Mädchen und zwei Jungen. 1963/64 gründete er mit seinem Bruder, mit dem er sich öffentlich prügelte, die Kinks. Die standen immer im Schatten der Rolling Stones und der Beatles, waren aber ebenbürtig, was Beat, Musikalität und vor allem die Texte anging. Er gilt neben Lennon/McCartney als einer der besten britischen Songschreiber, vor allem mit kritischen Texten.

Nach Auflösung der Kinks veröffentlichte er (für H.s Geschmack) sehr schöne Platten, unter anderem eine mit dem ihm verbundenen Crouch End Festival Chor. Hier zwei Lieder. Waterloo Sunset war das Lieblingslied einer von H.s Klassen in der Reihe "Lerne Englisch mit Popmusik". Es wurde laut gesungen, gebrummt und gesummt.
